A cracker is a flat, dry baked biscuit typically made with flour. Flavorings or seasonings, such as salt, herbs, seeds, or cheese, may be added to the dough or sprinkled on top before baking. Crackers are often branded as a nutritious and convenient way to consume a staple food or cereal grain.

Instructions

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients together. Add the water and oil and mix with a large wooden spoon into a smooth dough.
  2. Divide into 2 equal portions. Roll out the 2 portions of dough between 2 pieces of baking paper until they have a uniform thickness of approx. 2–3 mm all over and place them on a baking sheet.
  3. Cut the dough into squares with a knife, and bake the crackers at 180º for 15–20 minutes, until they are lightly golden.
  4. Take the crackers out of the oven and let them cool on a baking rack. You can store them in an airtight tin or bucket with a lid. Here they can last for 2–3 weeks.

Ingredients

  • 1 dl oatmeal
  • 1 dl sesame seeds
  • 1 dl flaxseed
  • 1 dl sunflower seeds
  • 1 dl pumpkin seeds
  • 3 ½ dl wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 dL water
  • 1 ¼ dl rapeseed oil or sunflower, corn or olive oil

Notes

You can replace the above seeds with other type of seeds like sesame seeds, chia seeds, poppy seeds and even thinly chopped nuts.
